The Eggtooth Project
What it does
We offer a range of creative and therapeutic activities including cooking, art, music, walking with horses, improving the well being of young people, parents, and carers predominantly within Hastings and St Leonards. We offer 1 to 1 and group sessions within our premises, which includes woodland, and we also work within schools, provide Alternative Provision and work with Statutory Services.
What its grants paid for
£20k from Sussex Community Foundation
Funding was provided towards mental health support for 42 young people in Hastings.
£496k from The National Lottery Community Fund
This funding will support the project's core costs to include part time salaries for directors and junior management and overheads plus a contribution towards the rent set up and running of new premises and community asset. Funds would also contribute to the development of Hatch - a centralised community hub and community asset with a focus on mental health and wellbeing participation and employment opportunities.
£10k from The National Lottery Community Fund
The funding will be used to provide bespoke therapy courses for young people, children and families experiencing mental health difficulties. The project aims to offer support and therapy to help people reach their potential.
£5k from Sussex Community Foundation
Funding was provided to deliver Straight Talking's work locally in Hastings to help pupils aged 13-17 in schools to recognise the signs of Child Sexual Exploitation and abusive behaviour.
