What it does
East Sussex Recovery Alliance is a peer lead project supporting recovery from substance misuse in East Sussex.Our Vision: is to empower, build confidence, encourage responsibility and promote both physical and mental wellbeing in all those in recovery from substance misuse and the families supporting someone affected by substance misuse.

£20k from The National Lottery Community Fund: Outreach
£8k from Sussex Community Foundation
Funding was provided towards staff, activity, venue and volunteer costs.
£10k from The National Lottery Community Fund: Hybrid Support Worker
The funding will be used to recruit a hybrid support worker who will offer online recovery groups individual face to face support and telephone support for people in recovery from addiction. The project aims to continue providing people with the tools to stay in recovery and build resilience.
£9k from Sussex Community Foundation
Funding was provided towards the increase in staff, food, and fuel costs to enable them to continue to deliver their services.
£280k from The National Lottery Community Fund
The funding will support salary costs for a project manager a senior support worker a receptionist and an additional support worker. This will enable the organisation to open the Hastings hub 3 days a week and with the addition of a new support worker be able to offer more recovery groups in the Hub and a weekly Recovery Group initially in Bexhill. ESRA is a drug and alcohol recovery service based in Eastbourne and Hastings. The funding would allow the centre to continue for another 3 years offering a seamless transition service for those recovering from Drug and Alcohol dependency.

Funding was provided towards café supervisor salaries.
£10k from Sussex Community Foundation
East Sussex recovery Alliance supports people in recovery from drugs and alcohol, reducing isolation and increasing engagement in purposeful activity. Funding was provided to enable them to employ a support worker for 20 hours a week to work specifically with people with complex needs who are leaving hospital to help them reconnect with services and support from ESRA to assist them in their recovery.
£10k from The National Lottery Community Fund: East Sussex Recovery Cafe
The funding will be used to pay a proportion of a café supervisors salary for a Recovery Café in Hastings for people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction so that they are able to support the volunteers who work in the café.The project aims to support people recovering from alcohol and drug addiction either working as volunteers in the café or those meeting up at the café to socialise and enjoy affordable healthy food.
£3k from The National Lottery Community Fund
The funding will be used to train and upskill volunteers to help deliver the 'It's Your Choice Recovery' programme for people in recovery from substance misuse. The project aims to provide support for more service users and family members, to improve their wellbeing and to aid recovery.
