John Bownas reported that as the BID carries out a lobbying and campaigning role, work is ongoing to gather evidence on behalf of the local businesses to see if they can get compensation as a result of the knock on effects of flooding and of the A21 roadworks, and discussions continue with East Sussex County Council and Southern Water as they have a part to play to help mitigate any future flooding. It is also hoped that exploratory work can be done in South Terrace to prevent future flooding, although this is not an area within CUG’s remit, there are often knock on effects.
